In the heart of Harlem—a community defined by cultural pride, resilience, and collective strength—WARM has opened the first holistic wellness center in Harlem dedicated to serving survivors of domestic violence. The WARM Holistic Wellness Center is a sanctuary of healing, restoration, and hope, offering survivors a safe, culturally affirming space to address trauma and rebuild their lives with dignity, compassion, and care.

For too long, access to comprehensive, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive healing services has been limited for survivors in historically underserved communities. Many individuals affected by domestic violence face barriers to care that go beyond availability—services often fail to reflect their lived experiences, cultural identities, or the full impact of trauma. WARM’s Holistic Wellness Center is designed to change that reality by providing care that addresses not only immediate needs, but the deeper, long-term effects of trauma on the mind, body, and spirit.
At the core of WARM’s approach is the understanding that healing is not one-size-fits-all. Trauma—especially trauma rooted in domestic violence—often leaves invisible wounds that affect emotional well-being, physical health, self-worth, and a sense of safety. Holistic wellness recognizes the deep connection between mind, body, and spirit, and affirms that true healing requires multiple pathways and individualized support. Survivors deserve care that honors their whole selves, not just their symptoms.

The WARM Holistic Wellness Center is intentionally centered on the experiences of Black and Brown communities, where trauma is often under-recognized, misunderstood, or left untreated due to systemic inequities in healthcare access. Harlem has long been a beacon of cultural excellence and community leadership, yet it also carries the weight of generational disinvestment and marginalization. WARM’s Center acknowledges these realities and responds by creating a healing space grounded in cultural competence, respect, and affirmation.
In the aftermath of domestic violence, many survivors seek more than traditional therapy alone. They seek environments where their identities are honored, their histories are understood, and their healing is approached with empathy and care. WARM’s Holistic Wellness Center provides that space—one where individuals can feel safe, supported, and empowered to heal in ways that resonate with their personal and cultural experiences.

To support a well-rounded and accessible healing journey, WARM has brought together a diverse team of skilled, compassionate practitioners specializing in trauma-informed care. Services offered through the Holistic Wellness Center include massage therapy, somatic experiencing, craniosacral therapy, internal family systems therapy, acupuncture, EMDR, meditation, and yoga. Each modality is delivered with a deep understanding of how trauma is stored in the body and mind, and with a commitment to empathy, compassion, and cultural sensitivity.

Together, these practitioners form a coordinated network of care, ensuring that survivors have access to multiple pathways toward healing—no matter where they are in their journey. The WARM Holistic Wellness Center is more than a physical space; it is a commitment to restoring balance, fostering resilience, and supporting long-term wellness for survivors of domestic violence and the Harlem community as a whole.
